About Me
I am a thirty-something guy with a lovely wife and two young children. I started out in life after graduating from The University of Alabama with total debts of $55,403. Since my wife is a stay-at-home mom, I’m the sole breadwinner in the family. We make progress slowly by keeping track of our net worth every month.
To track our net worth, I have been using Personal Capital to see all my accounts together. Personal Capital updates all my bank accounts, investment accounts and credit cards. It also helps me to quickly update my Net Worth spreadsheet.
Currently I am debt free as I have paid off my mortgage, two car loans, and student loans. All my credit cards are paid in full every month.
Regarding my investment, I am a buy-and-hold, long-term, all-market-index investor. I only use index funds in our portfolio with rock-bottom cost. My personal finance rule is as follow: Keep it simple.
I began documenting our personal finance in 2005. This website, Personal Finance News, grew out of my personal blogging. My main goal is to help people by sharing personal finance news that really matters.
