Net Worth Report for September 2011

Net Worth Report for September 2011
Net Worth Report for September 2011: $182,988

This month marks another milestone: Our total net worth is more than the value of our primary home. In another words, if we liquidate all our assets to pay off all our debts, we would own our house free and clear.

Also, in one more month we will no longer have an auto loan. It has been such a long journey ever since I bought a brand new FJ Cruiser in 2006 when Toyota released this model for the first time ever. I remember I had to order it all the way from Japan and waited for months before received it at the dealer. Subsequently, we eliminated that car loan but then acquired a brand new Camry in late 2008 with a 0% loan for three years. So after six long years we will finally be free of any auto loan. We plan to drive our two cars until the wheels fall off. Our next grand goal is to eliminate the mortgage within the next five years.

Lastly, I increase my 401(k) contribution to see if I can push it as close to the limit by the end of the year. I only have three more months left, and I don’t think I’ll max it out this year as our goal is to max it starting next year and every year after that.
